Original trio the best 100%, with the two other groups that are just mimicking the original trio (Orange Islands, BW) being runner ups. Every other group has the issue of certain characters having zero relationship or dynamics with each other (e.g. May and Brock, Dawn and Brock, Serena and anyone that isn't Ash)

I think the SoL format really helped push them better as characters than the other seasons. The only reason I rated DP higher was Dawn best waifu other than game Lillie. Anime Lillie is still good, just inferior to Dawn and Game Lillie. Also it's a sin Selene wasn't there as well
