It's good for the franchise to have some designs that appeal to me as a +30 year old fan, some designs for children new to the series, some mons for compfags, etc. Nobody is meant to like every mon in a dex because it's designed intentionally to have a few mons for each kind of player. I know Turner made Vanillux, and I don't like that mon, but that mom wasn't really made for me so I can just enjoy the Golurk and ignore Vanillux.
