You now realize that the "Thin Pikachu" was a fans creation from 1998 included in a random lolicon doujinshi completely unrelated to Pokémon beyond this single doodle, that both NoJ & GF (because TPCi wasn't a thing yet) have given a Super Hornio Bros. treatment to with their own canon redesign of Pikachu in RSE/LGFR

Are you saying that Nintendo bought the rights to the doujin just to stop it from being sold?
Anyways this reminds me of some old 1998 Street Fighter doujin I read, and the back had some random art of Pikachu and Chun-Li in her Alpha getup. I think she even had Pikachu ears and a tail. Always bizzare to see Pokemon fan stuff that old, especially by adults in Japan

I said doujin scene, random westerners are getting the rope. Doujin conventions are large part of otaku culture in Japan and while technically they bend Japanese law, it's not worth to chase random loli artist that will sell 1000 or so copies of comic about Marnie being railed by Machamp with no profits just to piss off at least half of your Japanese fans.
