Yeah try to have a game with those graphics having over 300 species, possible teams, objects and extra stuff. Pokémon is a JRPG those examples are not even RPG.

Plus the textures in Xenoblade don't look so AMAZING in Switch either.

Not to mention.
Nickpicking the most detailed GBA games and most Switch-squeezing games is very easy.

But, to have some comparison use some pokémon Spin-Off.
Some in the same terms

Also consider the time when the games were released.

GameFreak is NOT Nintendo so they can't use the whole potential of their hardware.

Mystery Dungeon DX is more of a Switch game than the mainline franchise games.

Also, the Switch isn't a powerhouse.
It's a phone of 4 years ago with controllers.
So don't expect a graphical masterpiece, Nintendo can do it because they know the fucking hardware more than their own bodies.

I like it, it's nice and simple. As for the Pokemon sprites themselves, they were goofy but not awful.
The only gen that had bad non-pokemon sprites was gen 3 to me. Look at that overworld sprite with the ugly shading.
