Your ribbon mon ranges from "dead weight to useful, but still on a team that you looked up on smogon." The "50 battles in a row" REALLY sucks to not only do like four times in gen 4, but battle streaks are gay to lose at like battle 46 and then have to sift through 35 battles of pure easy shit filler, only to lose in the 42-49 kids gloves come off and start over.
Contests are cool in theory...but gen3/4 forcing you to do *20* in each generation is awful, ORAS keeping it to Master only is so much better.
also the dress-up & dancing portions in gen4 suck, not fun to look up a guide to spam accessories in 30s Berries in gen3 are a mess to do solo and I don't blame anyone haxing out the sheen. Gen 3 contests can be cheesed to fuck with Rest+Snore combo anyway.
