Anyone else feel like Starmie had much better sprites in Gen2 than any other game?

Just something about it's dark violet colour, and the shiny reflective shading.. It just looks so good

The reflectiveness is really nice, but the shiny colours are better from gen 3 onwards because the sprite can actually have more than 2 colours apart from black and white

A lot of Pokemon had better sprites in Gen 2 because Gen 2 is some of GF's beast sprite work.

Gen 2 is the only time Pokemon has looked good for the time it was released.

I love all of Starmie’s sprites in gens 1-5. I used to think the noises it made in the anime were really erotic so I make room for it on every team in every gen its in.

picrel is Lufia: The Legend Returns on GBC. It came after gen 2, but it shows that they could have done even more on the GBC

lufia is great but also very busy. when the sprites are small and 3-colors tops, usually just 2 since you need a black outline, it looks like smeared shit even if the artwork is superior.
