We all know Gamefreak loves to shill gen 1. So which mons out of these underappreciated sad sacks will get special forms or regional differences next? Obligatory shillmons like Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo, etc are already a given.

I'd like to see evolutions for Seaking and Jynx. The others probably just regional forms/convergent species stuff.

I counted Vileplume as having "gotten something" because Bellossom technically counts as a cross-gen evo for the Gloom line, like Politoed for the Poliwag line, or Crobat for Golbat. That doesn't mean they can't get anything anyway. Jynx in particular is long overdue for an evolution, she's the only humanshape from gen 1 without special attention.

For me it would be:
Ditto
Omastar/Kabutops
Venomoth

Ditto could have an evolution of some kind that allows it to amplify types or some of its features based on item used to evolve.
Both Omastar/Kabutops could do with an evolution. I put both together as essentially they’re the same.
Venomoth just seems to be ignored but it was one of my main ‘mons back in the day. It would be interesting to add fairy type to it or even something like dark

My point entirely. It would be like a cheat mode but a Ditto that can evolve and amplify a type or it’s stats based on item held when evolving would intrigue me.
It’s basically the metronome move if it was a Pokémon

Golbat only evolves into Crobat. Politoed, Bellossum and Slowking are the alternative evolutions that don't help the other branch. Just saying I wouldn't mind seeing Vileplume itself get something because it's a neat design.

Sorry you missed my point. Ditto's evolution may or may not be good, but being able to run the item eviolite on Ditto I would imagine being far more impactfull on the game. Scarf Ditto is one of the most powerful hyper offensive weapons in the game, eviolite Ditto would be some of the most powerful defensive approaches to the game. For that reason alone gf is unlikely to give Ditto an evolution.

Hypno and Jynx ain’t getting shit because that could cause too much controversy. Don’t know what they could do with Ditto- it’s such a gimmicky concept that I don’t think even a regional form or (god forbid) a convergent evo could work for it.

I think Arbok, Dodrio, Dragonite and Fearow are next in line. Dodrio and Dragonite specifically have been getting more attention as of late (Dragonite was on Ash’s final team, both were put into Unite, there was a Dratini fountain in one of SV’s towns I think), while Arbok and Fearow are just easy as shit to make a regional for.

Arbok? Give it a slightly different pattern + color scheme and you’re golden (or just get rid of the hood). Also prime material for a convergent evo, as Wiglett has shown (and I still don’t know why the fuck they gave Diglett another form when Ekans would’ve made for an INFINITELY more interesting garden eel) or a new evo.

Fearow? Make it a Phoenix or a Cockratice or some other mythical bird-like creature and just make it look ugly/meaner than typical depictions. Ez.

Honorary mention goes to Victreebel, because I think if they did something with Arbok they’ll do something with Victreebel too. Why? Because Team Rocket.

I think a Paradox/Convergent Ditto that uses Mirror Move, Mimic, Metronome, Me First, etc but can’t actually transform would be a pretty fun memester.

You really can’t do much with a literal blob that had a smiley face without totally contorting the original point, so I find a regional/convergent variant of it to be shitty on principal and I really don’t know what you could do for an evolution

Jynx will never get anything. When files for Home were pulled, they included a bunch of still unused stuff (like AZ Floette). There was a cry for Jynx pitch-modded the same way megas are. So there were plans for Mega Jynx, enough to make a cry file, and chickened out with good reason.
