Magmar and Electabuzz are a duo. The only thing Jynx has in common with them is knowing one of the elemental punches and getting a baby in Gen 2. But by that logic Pikachu, Clefairy and Jigglypuff are a trio too because they all evolve by stone and got babies during Gen 2 as well.

With this logic you can say anything is a fucking duo. Jynx is actually a Lapras counterpart because they both learn Perish Song, Psychic and Ice Beam. Pikachu is actually a Sandshrew counterpart because they're both 2-stage rodents. Dugtrio is actually a Magneton counterpart because make of 3, where's the 3rd Dugtrio evo, bros??? You can connect any two Pokemon if your definition is broad enough.

Two Pokemon appearing in Smash Bros also has nothing to do with anything, especially since Jigglypuff only got in Smash 64 because she had a similar skeleton to Kirby and this is a well documented fact. Again, your logic is so loose we can say that Jynx is actually a Farfecth'd counterpart because you could only get them in Gen 1 via trade.
