Seems it was an unpopular choice to remain faithful to the originals and copy Link's Awakening Switch's art style/approach to upscaling handheld games. That and they did require a patch at launch to fix some large issues. Still the patch was available at launch so not a big deal. Otherwise it's internet assholes being internet assholes and people disappointed that we didn't get full remakes despite ORAS' getting tons of push back. They're strictly better versions of Gen 4 than the DS games by a wide margin.

If you only count DP then sure they're better than the DS games. The only reason to get this over Platinum is ease of access and not spending 200 dollars
