Training your Pokemon evenly is a self imposed challenge. You can play the game any way you like. Training just 1 Pokemon is usually easiest -- you could have some trouble when you go up against something it's weak to, but if that one has been getting almost all of the exp it will likely be overleveled enough to steamroll its way to victory anyway.

It all depends what Pokemon you have and whether her Miltank has the luck to get a good Rollout going. It has enough HP that with a little luck it can build up some good momentum before you faint it and then one-shot most Pokemon you'd have at that point. Of course if you had the foresight to teach something Double Team or Sand Attack, that breaks it completely, but much of the 10-year-old demographic dumps those as useless non-damaging moves.

I usually level evenly and often cycle team members in and out in order to try more Pokemon I haven't used much before (especially in newer games where it's easy to get stupidly overleveled but also easy to get new team members up to speed). But if I'm in a hurry I'll overlevel one poke.

nobody gives a shit about how other people play the game, but if you start pushing overleveling your starter as the proper way to play the game you're going to get pushback. doubly so if you're doing it to advocate for mechanics and/or playstyles that let you play the game less. most people here, believe it or not, enjoy playing pokemon, but this cunt clearly doesn't.
