Replaying BW for the first since its original release. Didn't really appreciate it back then, but damn I'm really appreciating this game much more now. Gen 5 really was and is true Pokemon kino. Planning on going for BW2 as well.

put some space between the two, the middle part of BW2 is very similar to BW

Yeah I probably will. I'm still relatively early on, so I'll have to see how tired I am at the end. I do vaguely remember some kind of Plasma castle or airship that was a real slog back in the days.

Region design is a bit lackluster but they really made up for it with the route design, really underrated aspect.

I really appreciate that almost every route has a second entrance despite the game itself being very linear.

Extremely based map design, even the worst map here has more thought put into it than the entirety of the second island of Alola in it's entirety

Glad we both can agree XY has the worst route design, because not only does it lack everything in your image outside of the Lost Hotel and two postgame cockblocks that don't even deliver on anything interesting, it also lacks side areas on a lot of its routes. Special shout outs to Alola's second island for making me feel like I was playing XY again, compared to the major backtracking available on the first island, the major side areas on the third island (even if some are postgame), and the largely postgame fourth island.

BW and BW2 are really good games, even outside of the pokemon realm of things. Take your time and check out all the buildings and routes, lots of cool places and mons to catch. Village Bridge and Undella Town are some of my favorite spots in the series. Don't listen to the demoralization shills, they are baiting and/or mentally ill

Wow, you sure showed me. But seriously, XY's level design is absolutely laughable generally speaking. And it's not like BW is a high bar to clear, it's no RSE for example. If XY can't beat an extremely average Pokemon game, it definitely can't compete with any of the ones listed in >>53797005 so don't even try.

I was turned off by gen 5 at the time because, despite it being in my too faves, to this day I’m not a huge fan of most of the designs in that particular gen.

BW2 was the perfect balance imo and that’s when I started liking gen 5.
