for all of gen 7s faults alola is a really lively and comfy region
is it crazy of me to think it somehow looks better than gen 8 and 9
i'd love to see something like unova with this visual style and art direction

Gen 7 is the best looking pokemon game considering for which console was each of them released. They really pushed the 3DS beyond the limits.

I found the dex to be pretty good too. It was pretty exotic and the gimmick mons like Oricoro were neat. Regional variants were great too.

i remember having the feeling that the series was going downhill with SM but i also had a lot of fun with it regardless and felt like it did some things better than any other entries in the series. It's sad that we can't even expect this quality anymore.

A few years from now, when we get through the Kalos kids raiding, Alola finally getting the praise it deserves is going to be great. Even if people just blame the cycle or whatever, I've been saying these games were good since release, and being able to actually talk about them will be nice. They had flaws, but also a ton of strengths in important areas.
