>>53799068>no npc even switches out anymoreI'm glad someone brought this up. NPCs didn't switch much in the past but some did. There was even a trainer class whose gimmick was switching.
Now in SV, it seems at all trainers refuse to switch on their volition no matter what, even in situations where their Pokémon cannot damage or affect you in any way. They'll only switch when you force them to, which leads to a couple questions:
>Do NPCs switch on the last turn of Perish Song if they're able or is it so broken that you could clear the entire game with that move as long as the opponent lacks Soundproof?>Trainers with Terastal always send the Pokémon they Terastallize last and will Terastallize it ASAP, presumably because of the soundtrack changing upon Terastallization. If you force a switch to where the Terastal Pokémon is sent out, what happens then? Terastal anyway, making the player suffer with the chanting for one extra mon?>>53799174It's definitely because of the bad AI and poor teambuilding throughout the game. This is from the same trainer that uses a Pokémon meant for leading last and a Pokémon best used last in the middle of the battle.
Or maybe it's symbolic of the game being a sandwich game first and a Pokémon game second with her picnic-based team consisting of the table cloth, table, knife, meat, veggies/drink and her Tera Jewel ace.
