On a technical level, they're pretty awful.
Otherwise they're very good and it's disheartening that such a good game that's finally turning the franchise in the right direction is held back by such incompetent programmers.
Game still works of course. It's an overblown issue but still obviously an issue that shouldn't have been this bad.

Music is mostly all right, but has some really good tracks

It's not impressive graphically, buggy but still playable, musically it's meh, battle system has changed a lot since emerald but still fundamentally the same, tera raids suck ASS they are timed battles in a game where battle animations can't be turned off and a lot of them take a quite few seconds

If you want to just roam around fighting gym leaders and catch Pokemon it's fun. There's not much in the way of trainer battles(they're all optional and most of them just have 1 Pokemon each), and the performance is really shitty unless you play on an emulator.
Still better than last gen.

>Constantly running into microscopic pokemon in the overworld you cant see
>Breeding requires you to make a sandwich and wait in real life minutes instead of biking steps for each one

You can absolutely tell they have the same director as Sun and Moon (I still don't know what happened with gen 8). Very ambitious and a lot of focus on worldbuilding, but ultimately still held back by Gamefreak being constantly understaffed because they think they're still making 2D handheld games.

Utter garbage. If you compare them to any other game on the switch they are just terrible. I loved Arceus, but these games have completely killed my enthusiasm for the franchise. If they make another Legends game I'll play it, but I'm done with the mainline games unless they completely change for the next generation.

Everything about it in my opinion is good but it feels like literally every single thing except battling is completely unfinished and is still in an early alpha. If everything they had was fully baked and taken to 100 percent then it would be the best pokemon game yet. For example there is no interiors, barely any unique npcs, and the world feels empty. However the world is beautiful and immersive but nothing feels interactable, it's like being in a plastic world of hope. Like Morrowind kind of. Like u think "ok if they can just perfect this it will be great"

And im ok with that.
I never cared for Tentacool line but Mushroom variant became my fav grass type.

Better than sword and shield if you like rpgs, meh if you like pokemon.
Hate that they keep cutting most of the dex on the console most suited to having a billion Pokémon because making high res models is hard, but a huge money maker being half assed is par for the course these days.
Honestly at its best once you finish the tedious, still kind of on rail story and can run around doing whatever you want.
