Bianca is at 16, which means 16 people used her to complete the challenge. Nate is at 1, so only one person used them. Not at all. Wallace's ORAS design is atrocious and May's remake outfit is not nearly as iconic as the RS one. The only one who got better with the redesign is Roxanne, everyone else is mostly the same with a few changes.

Agreed on Wallace being way too over the line, but the designs that worked back then like Phoebe stayed the same, others definitely needed a rework to blend with the current mainlines definitive artstyle (until Gen 9 pixar shit). Lot of those revamps helped getting rid of super plain unremarkable outfits and gigachad jaws and chunky legs, same problem Gen 2 had (while the original first gens artstyle has its own charm now it had to be modernized). The villains especially didn't leave any impact back then.
Talking about the designs always, the gameplay and such are another topic.

Gen 6 was another golden age of character designs, the big winners (overall) were the Hoenn getting the HGSS treatment and especially the NPC trainer classes getting official art in both Kalos and Hoenn and those are endlessy better than the NPC trainer classes from SWSH and SV.

I do agree that there were many improvements in character art (Flannery's ORAS art shows her personality better, for example) and especially the super legs all charas in that Gen had. You are right that the redesigns also made Team Magma/Aqua way more memorable than the Gen III version (though I think Archie's design was good in its simplicity).
But I don't agree that all of the RSE designs lacked charisma. May's original outfit is still memorable to these days and the bandana was iconic. Shame ORAS took it.

I liked ORAS a lot, btw.

They do different things. Most choose Bulu because Grass terrain and Sun are busted for any grass units as they always need them, plus PSUM stacking. If you really like Lele then just pick her. The current state of this game is somewhat easy, only LG is difficult, so whatever you choose doesn't matter much.

I think his Battle Tower outfit would be neat. Just watch it be Sygna Suit Piers or something. He has Gigantamax Toxtricity because he swallows his pride and finally tries Dynamax. And then watch Oleana be a side NPC like Faba and the rest of the non Courtney admins. Actually seeing that Piers is the leader of Team Yell I think he's really likely now. It's basically been that way until Kalos where the protagonists got a Neo Champion thing first and Alola has the non protagonists get the spotlight first for a whole Tapu thing and I'll assume they'll eventually become Neo Champions. With Galar they got the rivals out of the way already. So basically what they have left is

i'd say getting the shadow triad freebies or shop or 4* scouts from some limited ghetsis banner would be more realistic, even if they have the same model they also seem to be a triplet anyway (would also require some names to differ or shadow triad #1 - 2 - 3)

You can still challenge yourself by not using OP units and specifically trying to teambuild around a weaker damage dealer without using some of the more busted supports that have a ton of role compacting. I think it’s fun to grid and level some units I’ve never used before and use them to clear a CS stage.

Pretty much the only time you want to pick something other than Vigilance is if they already have that as a passive or in their grid, in which case you can pick something applicable. I usually go with Adrenaline if they’re EX or Defense Crush/Mind Games if they have an AoE attack.

Terrains can’t stack with themselves but they do stack with zone and weather. You can have one of each up simultaneously.

Terrains are from the main series, zones were made up by Dena to cover the types that don’t have a power-boosting terrain/weather (hence Fairy Zone instead of Misty Terrain).

You can easily off-type 2k5 any fight. I just put some glances, you can at least do 4 with Cyrus EX, GioMew Ex, MC Solgalgeo EX, and C Marnie. Then just do poison stall for the last one. I honestly don't see a problem here

Acerola is pretty much the be-all-end-all physical grass support. It’s going to be REALLY hard to powercreep her.

Hau is budget SST Red, he’s really good but if you already have Red/Ash you’re better off saving your gems.

Mina’s kit is kinda unfocused and geared more towards gauntlet if that’s something you care about.

Unlike Hau who exists in the shadow of Ash and Red, Lana exists under the shadow of like half a dozen other busted psychic units.

Honestly unless you’re really feeling one of them I’d just wait til the datamine.

Guess I'll try offtyping next week. Non-limited chart for this week. 3 easy types + 2 hard types…

Acerola - I could’ve just reused the triple Elesa team but I figured I might as well take advantage of Electric Terrain.

Kahili - definitely the hardest Elite 4 this week, the free rock options are pretty limited and dealing with Toxic restricts your teambuilding options a lot. Coalossal actually fainted early, leaving Xerneas and Marowak to deal with half a health bar on Salamanca with Standard Damage Reduction 8 active while it was throwing out Heat Waves.

Molayne - Silver go unga bunga. Brought Blaine to reset weather after the opponent’s sync move. Easy fight.

Olivia - May go unga bunga. Brought Lucian to debuff SpDef and Sabrina to max May’s SpAtk/crit without MPR RNG. Easy fight.

Champion - Tried clearing with Bugsy but he sucked ass, ended up just off-typing. Melony was the real MVP here giving infinite status defense and screens with Masked Royal debuffing Def. Took me a bunch of attempts to finally settle on the right team comp.

You really want to EX more of your supports, support EX is seriously busted. Striker and tech EX aren’t as important for 12.5K. Tea Lillie, Skyla and Sonia should be your next 6ex’s. Hilbert, Kiawe, Elio, Dawn and Leaf are also really good.

Having tried out all of them I'll give a rundown.

Pick based on your specific needs not that there's necessarily a best one. If you're lacking in fairy support get Hau. If you want a good tank and good support from really frail units get Mina. If you want physical support and the perfect grass support get Acerola. If you need a mostly self sufficient psychic striker with a fairy offense niche get Lana.

+ Physical Damage Reduction 8/Special Damage Reduction 8 (100p) (depends on what your main damage is)
+ Gradual Healing at Start (150p)
+ Can’t Change Zone, Weather, or Terrain (150p)
+ Strength 2 (200p)
+ Strength 3 (300p)
+ Ally Move Gauge Max -2 (300p)
+ Strength 6 (600p)

Here are the things you might consider adding if you uncheck the zone/weather parameter or replacing with the ones above :
+ Defense & Sp. Def 1 (50p)
+ Interference Immunity (50p)
+ Strike Sync Pairs Take ×3 Damage (50p)
+ Tech Sync Pairs Take ×3 Damage (50p)
+ Max HP 2 (100p)
+ No Stat Reduction (100p)
+ Power on Hit 2 (200p)

My parameter version is pre-syn. Meaning you need to know quad queue and finish your opponent before they sync. If you don't know quad queue then you can search it on youtube, here I won't go into too much detail about it.

Strength is all free points, so choose all. I don't like using the "take x3 damage" nodes because sometimes an AOE move gets in the way, and I love doing no-brain so I just uncheck it. <-- It's up to you.
Physical Damage Reduction 8/Special Damage Reduction 8 is a big turning point, there will be times when you have to choose whether to give up sync or dps move because both are not special/physical. And I would say fuck it, you need both, otherwise, you will be in an awkward situation like this:

Same as above, instead of downgrading my sync power for an on-type move. I just choose off-type with both using Draco Meteor, it's easier this way.
