I was a little hesitant because I could have gotten Pokémon shield but decided to give this a try instead. I Also just finished Pokémon Violet

It's Kinnoh, and it has buffed bosses, more pokemon than DP, and a cool Battle Tower. It's underrated.

Doesn't matter if you're so over-levelled that you one-shot everything.
Still better than everything else on the Switch (except ScaVio if they fixed the game), though.

The game is pretty underwhelming until you get to elite 4 and post game gym rematches, at which point it does a complete 180 and is probably the best challenge of any pokemon game.

Forgot to say, forced Amie bonuses will completely ruin the game from about the halfway point, buy herbs from eterna city and exclusively use these to heal. If you still end up getting the boosts, sit in front of a low level wild pokemon, and use energy roots on each turn it attacks you.
It is undoubtedly the worst part of this game and it sucks to have to work round it like this, but it's worth it to enjoy a normal battle without shitty RNG gimmicks (and without the autistic bouncing every time you send a pokemon out)

Only the Amie buffs are a negative, but a minor one

D/P were good for its time, but theres no reason to play them when Platinum ^ BDSP exist.
