I gave up buying Pokemon games in 2014. When OR/AS were so obviously disastrous, it became clear to anyone with even mediocre pattern recognition that Pokemon wasn't going to get better.

Replaying Gens 3 - 5, nuzlocking, and competitive battling (on Pokemon Showdown because fuck Game Freak) are all you need.
