Actually just finished using one in X last week. Pretty solid mon but didn’t expect Binacle to be half decent for an unevolved min. Highly recommend

For me, it’s Walrein. It’s hard to get to its part of Hoenn without having a Water Type. Wish it was available earlier

is there any 3DS-playable (counting DS titles) pokemon game where I can get sandshrew within a reasonable amount of time?
and it's a shame alolan sandshrew/sandslash have fucked availability
i have sun/ultra sun, which don't have alolan sandshrew, and even if I did have moon/ultra moon, this little guy is unbelievably late into the game and I'm not sitting through cutscenes I've already seen before that add basically nothing to the game

If you have CFW, you can play unbound which has alolan sandshrew/sandslash in the first cave. The downside is that its CFRE radical reddit slop, but it has a whole new region/story so it kind of evens out

Didn't actually get to use it until the postgame but when I did it was a lot of fun drilling through Stark Mountain with Giratina Origin Forme.
