>>53823217>>53823290agree yeah, after burgh for me the game hit a nice level of difficulty that didn't cause too much pain outside a few battles I had really poor matchups with, but early game was absolutely brutal.
Unless you go out of your way to build a team specifically to counter each gym leader it's brutal, I was just trying to put together some Pokemon that I intended to actually use for a balanced team. The grunt battle was ridiculous, don't remember how I cheesed that, but after resetting a fuck ton of times on Roxie I ended up catching a Magnemite that I actually used all the way through, and after being completely stuck on Burgh I actually had to go and catch an Eevee to get Jolteon just to get a chance at a win without grinding tons.
The game gets easiest towards the end weirdly though, the E4 and Iris were really easy in my normal and challenge mode games
Ended up finishing with this team, although Houndoom (don't let her hear this) didn't really do anything and almost always went down in one hit. Flygon and Samurott were transformed into incredible setup sweepers in this hack which I didn't realize at first but they carried me often
