Been playing Pokémon Y and Holy shit had to turn off Exp Share. Did GF added Exp Share last minute or something cause the trainers are not balance for it at all. Also the fucking Friend Squad is annoying as fuck. This story fucking blows. There's plenty of QoL shit in the game but story wise it feels like a step down from older games like Platinum or BW/B2W2

I'm commenting on my Pokémon Y experience and so far it's been mid. Like I do enjoy the Mega Evolution and PSS plus Super Training is fun but the story good lord the fucking kids are annoying.

I think X & Y is at least one of the best games to Masuda method in, since you can take 5 Eggs, fly to the center of Lumiose, have something hold down left or right on the D-pad and auto hatch Eggs while multitasking.

I didn’t like doing it in ORAS as much because you had to constantly reposition after hatching an Egg since the camera constantly moves. In X & Y you could just press B after hatching an Egg and go right back to biking.

Came here to say >>53825446. They got the feedback of XY's problems already back when the games came out, but they never manifested it into a refined 3rd version. In retrospect it's pretty shameful that they put the Zygarde plot in SM instead of keeping it in XY, but ideally whenever we get a Gen 6 remake they'll do right by it.

Yeah, just imagine if DP had become the only way to experience sinnoh. People would probably remember it as a shit, boring region just like they do with Kalos.
It's sad because you can tell they planned to do something more with it. Probably would have put it on par with the gens before it, but with XY unfinished, with a boring story, bad gameplay, and few things to make up for it, people just remember Kalos as the beginning of Pokemon's fall from glory.
I kind of feel sad for the kids who grew up post-gen 6. Can't imagine not getting Crystal and Emerald, there's no ultimate way to play gen 6.

Nah, I felt gen 5 was still in line with the old games, especially in terms of content and side content.

Well, it isn't. Features like infinite TMs, removed berries, needs a separate app to even experience some of the changes, endless dialogue from weak "rivals", half the dex are ripoffs that look like an 11 year olds fakemon, more linear than ever before, etc.

Except Emerald is outdated and the only feature is has over ORAS is the feature that not one 10 year old (you) finished when it came out. At least 3 of the facilities are RNG fests and you basically couldn't breed without wasting your time.
ORAS is definitive Hoenn on enhanced region design and social features alone.

Gen 5 is just part of classic pokemon. And it's ok if you like the gen 6 games even though they aren't as good, especially if you were a little child back when they came out. I would probably still love the gen 3 pokemon games even if they had been as bad as ORAS when they came out.
So don't worry, it's ok if you like the game's post the golden age. I also like SV for example even though I know they are inferior to gens 1-5.
