Maybe it could be more kino if it implied there was a guardian there at some point, but it is empty now. Leave some hints as to what it was or what happened, but just have it be empty with minimalist music.

The three lake guardians represent intellect, wisdom, and will. The three fundamental strengths of humanity simultaneously embodied and taught by the lake spirits. Im not sure what fourth boon mankind could arguably possess. Maybe empathy, if you want to get mushy.
Would make for an interesting scene where Cyrus captures three of the four guardians, only failing to get his hands on the one spirit he cannot comprehend.

Would've rathered that over enamorus. As much as that trio needed a 4th to fill out the mythological roles it's based around (technically a 5th too if you count the golden dragon/qilin, but do we really want another one of these pokemon?), it was pretty out in left field for PLA given they had nothing to do with Sinnoh and the lake trio may have boring designs especially for separate legendary pokemon (vs forms of one or just regular counterpart pokemon like plusle and minun) but at least they aren't abominations that barely felt like pokemon from the start and would be a lot harder to fuck up the design as bad as the pink turtle.

I can’t think of many reasons for there to be part of a bridge that serves no purpose. Its irl location is a tourist spot called Lake Mashu. It’s inside a volcanic crater and can get covered in fog and disappear. The bridge is also just the lookout point. Hence the in game design. The original name in Ainu was lake mashin or lake of the devil. It’s basically meant to just be the giratina lake.

The three lake guardians are analogous to the three sacred treasures being the Sword for Valor (Azelf), the Mirror for Wisdom (Uxie) and the Magatama/Jewel for Benevolence (Mesprit). There isn't ever a fourth sacred treasure mentioned in Japanese mythology although if like with the Kamis you wanted to add another member you'd probably want to look at the Irish Four Treasures which were a Speaking Stone, Spear, Sword of Light & Cauldron which are meant to be aligned with Druidry, Knowledge, Prophecy & Magical Power.
