I hear trainers don't switch in that game. Is it possible to clear the game by only inflicting foes with Perish Song? Of course not, Starmobiles are immune to it, but I'm sure there's something similar that can be used as a substitute on them.

catch the first pokemon of each new area
if you miss, you can't catch a pokemon for that area
you need to give it a nickname
if it faints, you have to release it
