I’ve recently rediscovered a love for Pokémon after reading some of the early manga and watching the first anime season with my nephew. I’ve noticed lots of rom-hacks and fan projects but haven’t seen many 3D fan games. Obviously making a a full 3D game would be a massive undertaking but I think it could be doable if you were to opt for a low poly N64 art style. I’ve already come up with a general idea for a story adventure type game that’s inspired by lots of early Pokémon media but I wanted to ask /vp/ for ideas on what kind of gameplay it should have. I think trying to replicate the RPG-battle system would be too time consuming and it wouldn’t be very new or fun to play. One idea I had was for the player to control the trainer like Link in OOT and have the Pokémon function similar to Items to fight and interact with the world
What are some features you’d like to see in a 3D pokemon project? Any ideas are welcome
