If you don't want Vespiquen, what about Mismagius? Gives you Ghost and Psychic coverage and it's fast (since most of the team is on the slower side)

This. I always have to resist the urge to plan ahead my team when I start a new pokemon game. It's much more fun to just use whatever you stumble upon in your journey, and aiming for a specific team just makes me feel bad if my mons aren't optimized to perfection.

DP objectively has the worst dex in the entire series and it isn’t even a competition. Shit on Johto’s distribution all you want but at least it didn’t shaft half of the type distribution in favor of proportionately more water shitmons than Hoenn.
