Gen 5's shillmons were intended to be Zoroark and Haxorus, but they dropped the ball by making Zorua an event mon and gimping Haxorus's BST. Both had ties to two major characters in gen 5: N and Iris, who also had opposing viewpoints regarding the game's themes. Their shilling continued into BW2. One of the sages gave you a Zorua and Zoroark continues to intertwine with N's character. Iris, with her Haxorus as her ace, became the champion and your reward for completing the regional dex was a shiny Haxorus.
