bede is an orphan and like many orphaned children he is constantly looking for attention rose like the bastard who gives him a pokemon to make a good impression and to seek attention from rose but seeing how the relationship is never mutual but more about bede idolizing rose (like a lot of characters already do) after destroying the mural with that ugly elephant rose proves one last time that in the end he really doesn't give a fuck about the kid
and here comes opal who admires bede in a more sincere way giving him more attention since he is a boy with rather feminine features with the way of dressing his eyelashes he always arranges his hair a bit like a flamboyant bede who by now has nothing to do he agrees to become her protégé
