The main difference is how the story ends up, which is arguably worse than SuMo

Unless you wanna experience Rainbow Rocket post game story for yourself, there's not much of a reason to get this game unless you haven't bought SuMo prior or you're a hard-core consoomer.

It's got an expanded Pokedex, tweaked NPC teams and various other small changes and features.
It's overall better gameplaywise but doesn't really feel worth it, especially since it comes at the expense of a worse story.

For all the Pokemon and trainers USUM added, they also decided the bottom screen should constantly play the same 5 tutorials on loop no matter how far into the game you are so the gameplay isn't really a net improvement
