There was an episode where Tapu Fini fucked with the cast and had Mallow come to terms with her mother's death when she appeared as a spooky ghost. It ended with her finding a Shaymin.

I never really understood the criticism of the mauve shaymin when he is an extremely weak mythical, he is more dp, we saw several of these, he is more of a friend than his pokemon as such and it is part of his bow, the same for vulpix lili who is tied to his character and bow

Togepi should have been Brock's Pokemon. He was the one who wanted to be a Pokemon breeder, what better way to show his character growth in that regard than to have him actually take care of a baby Pokemon? I can think of a bunch of good episode ideas off of that premise just off the top of my head.
