Gamefreak literally just needs to add fog to the game so it looks as good as BOTW and TOTK

Well, maybe. One of the reasons SV sucks is they designed the game like that and didn't play around the limitations they had. In fact it's the opposite, they show their shitty graphics as if it were the most advanced ones in the market. That's why Nintendo games so often look timeless, or why something like Megaman Legends looks better than SV despite the huge graphical advantage SV has.

Paldea is like one or two of the sections tops, far less than 30%. That's still a whole lot more than any other Pokemon game but it's not saying much.

Area Zero felt about the same size as the peak of Death Mountain to me, so yeah, about 1 or 2 sections of Hyrule.

Go look at something like Wind Waker or Skyward Sword, they haven't aged nearly as much as games of the same time period which went for realistic looks and had graphics as a selling point.

Nah, it looked pretty good on release. Obviously it didn't have the best graphics, but the character design, environment design and animations were fantastic. The Ancient Cistern is to this day one of my favourite videogame locations.
