I usually do multiple playthroughs of a Pokemon game usually 4+ but these games I can't even do my second playthrough I never realized how much I don't want open world Pokémon games

i agree anon. open world is a meme that is at best irrelevant for the vast majority of games, and the dev time and resources that go into making endless shitty random fields to connect the map together in place of load screens would be better spent on other stuff

I think open world can work when done right, it's just annoying people think if a game is open world, then it's automatically good. SV did not handle the open world good.

Thing is, I love it. Same with Swsh, prob beat it about 20 imes in a few diffeent language settings. Same with PLA, tough I've probably only beat that game between 5 and 10 times.

That's the problem I find with open world games in general. You can spend so much time exploring a vast world the first time that it becomes a chore on any later playthroughs.

What if it was open world but made well? Open world games are fun when they are made well. Scarlet/Violet were horrible, unfinished games. The first games Nintendo apologized for due to poor quality.

Yeah I really hated that about Kalos. Thank god nobody ever remembers that flop of a game, XY is easily the worst pokemon game to have ever been made.

>transfer exclusive moves gone forever, the game forces you to forget them

>constant lags and bugs take you out of any potential immersion, even in opening cutscenes there's awful lag
>still relying on shitty soulless cheese the game gimmicks for marketing (most other 3D games might have this flaw too but at least they have more good things going for them)
