The arcane technology of MAKING EDITS isn't 20-30 years out from modern day. Minute changes or design errors doesn't magically make 90% of the art "not traced"
What's damning about it is it shows there was no real concepting phase, and the Pokemon were less created by what would be the most visually interesting, and instead 'how fast can we pump out a 3D model?' Biggest offenders are 'mons like Clodsire and Garganacle. They're all overly simplistic shapes that are easily churnned out in Blender.
