any fangame worth playing has built in speedup to rush through tedious parts and repetitive battle animations/slow text scrolling, romhacks are usually played in emulators with speedup options, showdown has very fast animations and shows multiple things happening at once in a few seconds, but pixelmon doesn’t have that luxury because if you click too fast the shitty battle engine will explode, and even with that, you’ll have to suffer through waiting for the server to get its shit together just to process one turn, and then there’s also waiting on the other player to finish his actions and good luck if he’s timer stalling
my preference for wanting to get battles over with before shitcode ruins everything is reflected in my team setup and strategy - kill everything as quickly as possible before something breaks
