In general, I prefer the soundtrack of the original Gen 2 games over HGSS. Even if they sound more beepy, they get the tone right. The remade tracks all sound like a clusterfuck like they couldn’t decide on what tone to use and what the instrumentation should be.
This is especially apparent with the Rival Battle theme and Mt. Silver theme.
