thought it was hideous when it first evolved but now it’s probably my favorite in gen 9

Chestnaught, I absolutely DESPISED the fact that it didn't turn into some edgy cool clawed hedgehog creature similar to Sandslash when x and y first came out, but I still preferred it to the other 2 because I just had an irrational hate toward the Kalos starters at the time. Through his sheer power and appearances in the anime, Chestnaught has grown on me so much and now I love it

I used to FUCKING HATE Pichu because of how fucking long they took to evolve in fucking Diamond and Pearl, I ended up just plain getting a new Pikachu instead and evolving it from there.

Now I really love Pichu because it's cute and it's better than Maushold.

Yooo actually fucking true.
I think it genuinely has to do with playing the games less. Surfing used to be shit because you just hit like, a dozen fucking tentacool over and over, and that’s probably why i disliked them so much, but taken out of that context they’re both pretty well designed mons and fun to use too.

Volcarona which I used to discount as a useless bug with the whole gen5 doesn’t evolve until postgame stick but it turned out to be my favorite fire type. Gen 5 wierd sprites didn’t do it justice.
