I never thought it was real, but I remember a distinct empty feeling when I thought about how I would never get to fly across the world, surf seas and create adventures for myself. It felt depressing that I was so more confined in real life than in the video game.
Just got a decent job straight out of college, but I thought about how that experience as a kid has made me value my life so much less.
