It has nothing to do with race, the entire interaction was cringe. What made it worse was that gamefreak is too cheap to implement voice acting, so it came off as a retarded old lady dancing around giving "Hello, fellow kids" vibes while I read a shitty poem. She could have been literally any race and it would have been equally cringe.

And I'm black, by the way. I just thought it was funny how the blackest person in the game defaulted to being a rapper. I'm surprised her sister wasn't a basketball player.

No voice acting is good.
The number of video games with even decent VA work is very small.
But don't direct cutscenes and create character archetypes that only function properly in a context where there is voice acting.
