There was a tale I liked as a child, which I can't remember the name of now, where a young man finds a fae festival in the middle of the forest and he is charmed to such a degree he goes mad dancing, after the festivities end he regains his senses and goes back to his home village only to find it unfamiliar and realizing he had been dancing for a century.
It's part of what made fairy type pokemon appealing to me, it isn't just cute or good beings, they are also mischievous and lack a point of reference when it comes to humans, so sometimes their pranks can leave you fucked up.
