that probably would have died to stealth rock anyway with shadow sneak. He just couldn't force anything healthier out because he had no sustain or offensive presence like decently powerful STAB. Offensively, it would also make his trick room sets better.
Despite being an offensive pokemon, Electivire had the exact same problem. Good stats movepool, but no STAB. Well, Evire would still be kinda dogshit because Hippo would still wall him all day long.
