*the cotd in Hawlucha's debut episode in XY consistently referring to it as "he"
*the summary for the Diancie movie consistently calling Diancie "she" (though I'm pretty sure the actual movie never did)
*the initial preview for the CG remake of movie 1 referring to Mewtwo as "he", starting off by saying "He's back"
Japan doesn't really use third person pronouns all that much, so you can easily write natural dialogue without including them.
