Gen2: Johto saga
TR returns but still same old antics , no clear reason why they are awful jusy enjoy stealing Pokémon and being thieves. Granted, it was never supposed to be deep lore. Just a game for children after all
Gen3 hoenn
Shallow but slightly better plot with eco terrorists using the weather trio to further their own ideals, no deep lore. Archie and Max are fine as PG rated villains. Cool legendary trio, but story falls flat as the villains are cartoon level. , Wally has a decent arc tho , even more so in ORAS
Gen4 SINNOHHHH
SLIGHTLY better done copy paste of gen3, except more biblical and philosophical but still skin deep plot, however Cyrus being a Nihilist in his mid 20s is an interesting and original villain, it’s not fleshed out at all. Props for the games first original villain, at least they tried doing something new. Thanos type villain who wants to reset the world bc he believes emotions to be the cause of the worlds turmoil. Silly? Sure, but it’s a start.
