Hello and welcome to my review of Pokemon 4 for the DS.
First of all, let me start off talking a little bit about the story of Pokemon 4. So, for story, I was really expecting after Pokemon 1 Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, I was hoping that they would extend a little bit more into the story of Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. But they didn't even mention them at all in Pokemon 4. Then after Pokemon 2 FireRed and LeafGreen with Mewtwo I was hoping that Mewtwo might make a guest star appearance because his presence in FireRed and LeafGreen wasn't too big, so I was hoping it would be big in Pokemon 4. And then there's Pokemon 3 Diamond and Pearl and Platinum I was hoping that they would talk a little bit more about Platinum's Regigigas in Pokemon 4. But truthfully, Pokemon 4's story really isn't that much of a sequel it's more just a Pokemon game instead of a sequel. So anyone who's waiting for the big conclusion to the Pokemon storyline you'll have to wait until Pokemon 5.
This game's story: Nothing big. And there were barely any new Pokemon. The only new Pokemon I came across over the course of the entire game were a Pokemon called Lugia and Ho-Oh like the candy. They were on the box and those were the only new Pokemon additions to Pokemon 4 so I don't know how that worked. Because Pokemon games need to have new Pokemon, right? Like, with Pokemon 1, we had all the Pokemon came together. With Pokemon 2 we had Mewtwo. With Pokemon 3 we had all the new Pokemon from Sinnoh but here we just have 2 new Pokemon and that's not cool.
Next, we'll move onto graphics. This game's graphics were HORRIBLE. It was all trying to be 3D, but it was kinda 2D, and it was like "oooh I'm living on the edge" and I was just kinda like, "No, you're not, go away, you're not 3D". Pokemon games should not be 3D like we saw in Pokemon 1 and 2 they need to be 2D, they can't be 3D, because it just doesn't work for Pokemon 3 and 4. So with Pokemon 5 I'm hoping we can get some more 2D greatness.
