>>53935607>I'm actually glad you picked that example. In dark souls there's a genuine difference between playing a beefy face tank with a greatshield/roll and r1 spammer and a squishy caster playing keepawayYeah? And there's a difference between having a snorlax on your team vs a shedinja
>Beyond the direct differences of melee vs range, but nearly every enemy plays different as a result. They still have the same moves and AI just as npc trainers have the same pokemon with the same movesets
>Fighting Geeta with a Meowscarade vs a mono fire team Charizard vs a nuzlocke Wugtrio doesn't mean anything in the endYes it does; assuming you aren't playing like a retard and have everything absurdly overleveled then eventually your pokemon will be walled by something.
>with the only difference being maybe you need to switch against X in one scenario where you wouldn't otherwiseHow is that any different
In dark souls I can go through the whole game killing everyone enemy with the same weapon and spells. 99% of enemies in dark souls will just rush at you for melee attacks and you'll never need to switch anything up except in gimmick areas like Four Kings where you need to use the ring to access the arena without dying or Izalith where you need a ring to cross lava. It doesn't matter if you're fighting Ornstein & Smough, Nito, Gwyn, Artorias, or Manus
They all kneel to me spamming r1 with a falchion or casting heavy soul arrow just like anything else in the entire game
