Stat EXP will forever be superior to EV's and Natures. The Missingno Bag Glitch also allowed you to effectively have infinite TMs and Moon Stones, this allows you to evolve the first Pokemon you get capable of using the stone but still upgrade later if you find one with better DV's. This is massively easier and more reasonable than farming a Clefairy which is a 1% spawn chance in Mt. Moon with a 5% chance of holding a Moon Stone.
The Elite Four rematches, extra content, and addition of Johto Pokemon postgame were nice however. I still consider FRLG better games overall, but they aren't complete upgrades in every way due to retarded game design decisions.
