I guess it makes some sense, people want to focus their lives around online bullshit so fetishing challenges so much is a logical continuation.
Really funny that Nuzlockes completely lost their purpose though.
Like trying to make a bunch of variants of the Ditto vid kinda keeps the idea(just that its a waste of time), but Nuzlockes lost the story aspect as thats not something you can try flexing on the internet with.
Outside of being underage, the only "reason" you could give for thinking Nuzlockes were niche is that they weren't some defining part of a persona; Nuzlockes were super common as just a way you played Pokemon around late 5ish onwards for awhile.
It wasn't some defining feature of a channel, and it was always sorta just done by anyone; not being a hallmark of "A pokemon channel" thing only. I do feel like I recall a lot of channels randomly slapping Nuzlockes onto basically all their runs at some stage though.
