Bede was robbed. He could have been a well executed antagonistic rival with a haughty, spoiled prince vibe. But his whole thing was a half-assed afterthought with an abrupt stupid ending.

It's like taking an effeminate but cruel villain like Frieza and turning him into the Tooth Fairy in the span of a single scene, all so you can focus more on why Jiren is unhappy.

I always felt they took him off for majority of the second half of the game just to give Marnie some spotlight. Which is unfortunate because I found Bede a better rival and character than Marnie in my opinion.
