Smogon sucks, Everyone knows Smogon sucks but the reason nothing is done is because no one will make an alternative. So here's my proposal, /vp/ makes their own metagame separate from smogon. I nominate the name "The Underground"

I TRIED to make an alternative being retro 3ds games. I mostly play Anything Goes anyway because I'm skilled enough to beat Mega Rayquaza with my infamous Gyarados.

The issue is that Smogon has monopolistic control over the only battle simulator.
We would need a good battle simulator that isn't Showdown first.

Showdown is inherently flawed due to being 50% a Pokémon battling sim and 50% an IRC chatroom, which makes it a pedophile's playground. The site's architecture is literally built to facilitate grooming minors. Just look at how many Smogon mods and jannies got banned for doing just that over the years.
