Nah, they showed Nate battling at the Plasma Brigade with Hugh before chasing one of the Shadow Triads for the official animated trailer for the games, meanwhile Rosa was still in the first gym against Cheren. They both work well. I'd say Hilda in BW feels more canon though.

And yes I was too harsh on Lucas, I didn't remember much of Gen 4. He's OK.

Don't get me wrong, Nate deserves Yancy, and Rosa having a BF sounds good end for our team, but GF went at this idea like a man who says "I'm gonna swim in the ocean!", and he just went to the wet part of the sand. Not even trying to put his feet on the small waves that come to shore.

Yancy is fine for being genuinely cute but I couldn't give a fuck about Curtis, whom I only remembered the name of from your filename. I wasn't quite young enough to be into boybands or idol groups when he was added (not that I ever liked them at all anyways), and I was much more invested in Rich Boy Martin. I went to see him every day so he wouldn't have to ride the Ferris Wheel alone. Honestly I think I was worried that one day he wouldn't appear because his thing was that he was pretty sick and couldn't go outside very often. I still kind of miss him.

Besides, these days we have Pokemon Masters, which is wildly successful purely because its a waifu and husbando gacha.
