It's hilarious how mad Smoggies get when you call out the defensive play bias.
In Gen 8 it was pretty explicit that no matter what the community wants Clefable and Toxapex would never be suspected/banned.
In Gen 9 it's pretty explicitly that no matter what the community wants Garganacl is here to stay
Volcarona gets banned with no community input in an effort to force a tera ban, and countless gen 9 Pokemon are simply quickbanned.

No, I realize that, but that's pretty fucked up to go after people who encourage more players for Showdown. It's not like either of those guys are bad or something. Tera is a fun gimmick, it shouldn't have been banned and I'm glad those guys cared enough to try thwarting its ban with their own community pull.

It seems like the majority of players are pretty upset about the Volcarona quickban, and opinions on Toxapex were pretty negative last gen.
