The tenth generation of pokemon will be one of the most controversial entries in the franchise upon its initial release. gf's handling of even numbered generations in the past has laid a dangerous precedent that makes this upcoming tragedy nearly unavoidable.
Every even numbered generation has had one key issue that leaves people divided on whether or not the game is actually good. from oldest to most recent:

>slow framrate in gen 4
>a clearly unfinished story in gen 6
>dexit in gen 8
Notice how most of those problems had nothing to do with game design choices? These were not controversial design choices, no, they were issues that stemmed from poor planning and rushed production, two things that have only gotten worse for gamefreak over the years.
They only seem to be able to keep it together for one generation at a time before fucking shit up again. Expect gen 10 to literally brick consoles on release.
