Actually yes, because GF's hack checker sucks so much ass that they let poorly hacked Pokemon go through, there is literally no way to know a Pokemon looks shady unless you can hack yourself. Trading is a game mechanic, it's absurd to say players are responsible for something out of their control, especially when trading for some people is a necessity for version exclusives.

The rules aren't even that clear because it specifies external apps (ie. direct save editing) and only says you *may* get DQ'd for having a tampered Pokemon. It's basically a roundabout way of saying you will only get DQd if there is evidence that you modified a Pokemon yourself, even if it's not your OT, because otherwise a Pokemon is legal as long as it goes through the in-game hack checker.

The only thing in the rules that a manual judge check of a traded Pokemon could get you DQd for is if the OT is suspicious, like from a known tradebot.

Every player gains a massive disadvantage against people like Wolfey and other big VGC players because they have discords FULL of people willing to breed, catch, and minmax pokemon for them to play with. There are very few instances I can think of passing hack check but failing a manual check by eye. Ray Rizzo's dream ball Aegislash in XY comes to mind. But for the stuff I mentioned above that may be suspicious of a hack to 99% of people, but if there's a 1% chance its legit it would probably default to pass by a judge. If you have a Groudon that says it was hatched then you're insta fucked, but its not always black and white.
